    Default Baby Shower Gift Ideas

A couple of girls I used to work with, along with my mum and sister, have decided they are going to organise a baby shower for me.....

Now I have all the basics, ie. cot, change table, pram, car seat, sling and basic clothes & wraps for early days.....

They want me to put together a list of things that I might like as gifts, but I have no idea where to start....

    Anyone got any suggestions???

    Bouncer Rocker
    Play mat
    Nappies
    Blankies
    Cot sheet sets
    More and more clothes
    Breast pump

Or ask if everyone can chip in for a bigger present that's what I did and received lots of great things AND at my request, enough in vouchers and cash to buy a Gliding Rocker Chair

Nappies, wipes, baby wash.. all the things that it doesnt matter how many you get you'll end up using it all!

Face washers and towels for bub..

cloth nappies - multiple uses for them even if you plan on using disposables

clothes in bigger sizes.. say 00+

Or as suggested a small contribution to a larger item (might help to specify what item you are 'saving' for so they feel they are still actually buying you something)

    hope that helps

At baby showers they dont normally buy you overly expensive presents it's normally things like clothes, towels, wraps, nappies....just little things like that... I could never ask anyone to buy me certain things nor could I have asked for vouchers or money.. that's just my opinion ... but I never prompted anyone what to buy for my baby shower and I got heaps of different things mobile's, wraps, blankets, clothes, bibs etc etc

    Have fun...

It is a hard one... I too feel bad putting together a list as such....

But on the same hand, I have little pockets of friends that are likely to pool their resources, so I'd rather give them hints for something that I need or is useful....

A rocker/bouncer is definitely on my list....

What about a baby monitor, a good thermometer, nail clippers and hair brush etc.

There is another thread like this, it went on and on for ages. Maybe look for that.

But, the best gift we received was a copy of Baby Love by Robin Barker. I think I have looked at it nearly every day since my son was born in November.

    Default home help

for my cousin's wife, the family chipped in and hired her a months worth of housekeeping. a lady came around twice a week to do laundry, floors, dusting and all that stuff that is so hard to keep up with in that first month. her mum got her a meal delivery service for two weeks that deliverd three meals and four snacks a day, first thing every morning.

when i had my little one, my MIL (bless her heart) got me some really good moisturiser for my face. best thing ever as being in hospital my skin dried out something awful in the airconditioning. i also got one of those breastfeeding singlet tops with built in support so you don't have to wear a bra (babies galore have them). soo comfy, and looks good too!!

if you are planning on using cloth nappies, how about the family chipping in for a nappy service? if you're planning on disposables, you can never have enough, get a few bulk packs.

have you thought about getting one of those baby carrier thingys for going out??
prams are difficult in shops sometimes

    hope that helps
