any tips for usung a fetal heart monitor?

hi just ondering if anyone has tips for using a fetal heart monitor, i brought an angelcare monitor, i can here the wooshing of the placenta, with a beat and lots of swooshing noises, but cant seem to find a heart beat
i am almost 15 weeks thanks

hi,

at that stage of pregnancy i found that bub was really low, towards pubic hairline and mostly laid on what i thought was the very bottom of my uterus and usually to one side. I would move the doppler around until i could find bub and almost always had to push in a little to get a clearer sound. It distinctly sounded like a galloping horse. Bub would always move away from the doppler once i could locate him, so i was constatnly looking for the heart beat. I basicly searched the whole entire area below the top of my uterus and would usually find bub in places that i didn't think he would be in. In no time bub would find the doppler and show his distaste for it by kicking at it. Hope i was of some help

try drinking a big cup of water (a full bladder pushes your uterus up like when u have a US)... I had to be supper busting ... usually just above my pelvic bone... took me an hour, just move it very very slowly
