Default Opinions on colouring your hair when you are pg?

Just wondering what people are doing / did. When I was pg with DS I waited until I was 14 weeks before I coloured my hair. My hairdresser did say to me though that it was ok and that the colour he used wasn't going to cause any damage. Not sure what to do this time? Don't really want to wait another 7 weeks but if I have to I will.

I know that they say that it is safe, but I don't get my hair coloured at all while I am pregnant. I can feel the chemicals sitting on my scalp and don't understand how it can't be in my system.

I never coloured my hair in my previous pregnancies.. partly because my ex p (he dosent deserve the d in dp) abused me about it (long crappy abusive relationship -sigh-

this time i dont think i really can as ive been blonding my hair and ive heard that bleaching is a no no

ive been toying with maybe putting a light brown rinse through it to cover up the regrowth (the regrowth is dark blonde but the rest is rather light almost platinum so its very obvious)
but im a bit scared it might go a weird colour ! lol

no idea if this helps with your actual question hehe!

    Hi guys
I just stumbled across your post and thought id put your mind at ease. Im a hairdressing teacher and there is absolutly no problem colouring ur hair whilst preg. The main concern used to be the fumes not the actual colour itself. (If colour could seep far enought into our scalps we would never get a regrowth ) So all salon colours are fine to use. If you are using a home colour i would stick to semi premanent colours because the peroxide levels in home colours are sooooo much higher than salon colours so they could get a bit fumey. If you use a home colour sit outside in the fresh air (but not the sun) while it is processing. Hope this helps

my hair dresser said it was safe also

but, I decided only to get foils as the chemicals dont sit on your scalp as much... sounds silly

reminds me I have like an inch of regrowth

need to find a new hairdresser as my last one nearly made me cry she had me sitting in the seat soooooooooooo long... after a night shift with really bad morning sickness blur

I spoke to my hairdresser about it last week and she said that a good few years ago the peroxide levels were SO much higher but now they are OK for during pregnancy - I will probably still only do my regrowth once we get our BFP but will carry on doing this!
