    Default When your waters break

This is going to sound so stupid coming from someone who is having her 4th lol.. but... when your waters break is it possible to have a smaller gush and then nothing? Can babies heads block the fluid if they are very low down?
Or does the fluid always either continue to trickle out till gone, or come away in a huge noticeable gush?

    Yes.

When I was in early labour I started vomitting and 'wet myself' (as you do when you vomit) I went to the loo to finish vomitting in a safer place (previously was hovering over the sink) and noticed a small amount of blood, but felt a lot of moisture, freaking out that I was bleeding everywhere (ends up it wasn't blood.. just over active imagination) went to the hospital.
I did that lay down check, and nope, nothing.. fair enough.. I had just wet myself.. I insisted that I wanted to stay at the hospital and they humoured me.
a few hours later I begged a midwife to let me go to birth suites, and when I de-undied the midwife ran off with my pad () came back and said... "I've just shown your pad to the other midwives () and we've all decided that there's waters in there!" she did an internal and confirmed that my waters must've broken earlier this morning but Cobey's head was blocking the rest of it.
It wasn't pooling earlier in the morning, but probably due to me insisting on walking and the rest a bit more came out, into the pad, which gave the midwife a clue!

Does that make sense? After that she broke the rest of my waters and Cobey was born an hour and 22 minutes later.

    Good luck

Ooooh how exciting, does that mean you have had a "leak" or something

    Yep makes sense, thanks Nikki
With my others, #1 they broke in one gush no mistaking it, 2 was the same and my third was a mild gush in my undies in bed one night and for the next few hours it continued to flow (awfully messy that was!)

If bubs is blocking most of it, can it reseal it renew itself like when you have a small leak?

Not too sure hey, woke around 1am to strong cramping and then felt warm fluid fill my undies... sat up to see if more came away like it did with my 3rd but nothing Continued to cramp which kept me up all night/morning but no more.
No more cramping either, but alot of pressure on my cervix that I can barely walk..

Oliver's broke with a short gush. Trip to the hospital - NO dear, you must have wet yourself, there is no *waters* there... 3 days feeling wet and leaky... In labour...Go to break my waters... What? NO WATERS! LOL

YES they can break early and then the bub can block.

Ahhh just wrote a huge reply and lost it

Well what I was saying, cramped up again last night... 8.30pm in bed and bang, contractions hit me SO strong! I started shivering from the pain and had my head in a bucket

They got to 5 minutes apart then less and I thought ok..... I can't take this pain at home let's get dressed and call hospital...

It stopped. No frikkin joke, just stopped. One minute I am shivering in pain and moaning like a half dead cow and the next it just stops!

This happened 6 days prior too but not as bad so has stepped up a notch. I can't take another of these starting and stopping

No more fluid.... so maybe it wasn't that?
I am cramping alot this morning so bout to go shower and get kids tidy and if it keeps up maybe call the hospital.

It's confusing though, how long do I wait if that happens again? I feel like an idiot wasting people's times, but what if it were for real. With pain that hard and fast surely the labour would be fast..... if it were to STAY that is

Ok off to take this crampy body of mine into the shower....
