Unhappy Feeling like nothing is going to happen...

Has anyone else had this feeling, i am 40wks and 2 days today and i havent had much happen on the labour front. I have lost a little mucous, and had about 6 contractions last night, but nothing else.
I just feel like nothing is going to happen, i have a terrible feeling that i am going to have to be induced, and thats not what i want.
I hate feeling like this, what else can i do i help bring on some action, maybe not full blown labour, but something that will help when labour does hit?

I started getting contractions at 39 weeks. I was so excited. Then they kept stopping and starting. I went through 3 weeks of this and I thought it would never end. I was induced in the end at 42 weeks.

As for getting things moving yourself, the 3 hots. Hot curry, hot bath, hot sex. And then there is always the castor oil.

Its time to come out now bubba. Sending lots and lots of labour vibes

    Oh

I think we have all felt like this !!!!! Terrible isnt it !

But remember you cant be pg forever ! Bubs does have to come at some stage !!!!

I remember the threads i started when 'overdue' with Squeak saying i was going to use a kitchen knife LOL !

I ended up getting to 15 days over ... That doesnt help does it Yes I was going insane but really im glad that he came when he was ready, it was wonderful !

Bubs knows the day they will be born .... Shame they dont let us in on that too !

Soon you will be wanting to be pg again & wondering why on earth you were complaing heh.

Go have a nice warm bath & relax a little & enjoy these last few days before the chaos begins !

I felt like nothing was happening until it started happening! I was 10 days over.

As much as it was agony at the time just waiting around for something to happen, I am glad it all happened naturally. This time around I am going to ask to wait as long as possible before they even talk about an induction.

Good luck, rest up and your baby will be here before you know it.

Willsmumma: I'm now 40 plus 3 days by my dates, +5 by scan dates...
And I have no lost any mucous, only have the odd uncomfortable tightening (lots of painless ones) and my baby is not engaged (unusual for first bubs) It keeps sitting at the brim but when I lay down at night floats up again...

I got some Clary sage oil but the smell is beginning to make me feel sick, and I think Im having less rather then more tightenings. I tried squirting Evening Primrose "up there" lastnight, but I dont think a lot stayed in..let alone got to my cervix..
I keep meanig to go for long walks but its been freezing and raining here for the last few days... so only managed 10 minutes between showers.. which does cause more tightenings but not alot.
Bubs will come when its ready....bubs will come when its ready... I keep telling myself.
Mostly I'm not fussed... I feel really tired, too tired to go into labour anyhow.. But the Induction threat and the constant calls from well meaning people is getting to me. Or even worse they drop round and sit there looking at you and your tummy....kind of waiting for it to burst open or something. And evey time you rub your tummy or sigh.....they ask if its a contraction
I have actualy changed my phone message to.." HI Im busy being pregnant, the baby has decided it is shy and will not come out until people stop asking"...

Have decided I'm going to go swimming or shopping everyday for next few,,,, So I am active, and also people can't find me.

Your baby will come soon I'm sure..

It is for this exact reason I always keep in my head my 42 week date as my estimated due date, this obsession with the 40 week date does no-one any favours at all, most women seem to be set like a time bomb to start going bonkers at 40 weeks and 1 day, when 42 weeks plus is so completely normal it's not funny.

It's a lesson in surrender all right.

You WILL go into labour, no-one has ever remained pregnant forever

Thankyou all so much. I told myself that i wouldnt get like this.
I am going to start going by my scan date now. On that i am not due until the 6th so that gives me 3 days.
You ladies are all so wonderful, you brought a tear to my eyes, which isnt that hard atm- hormones and all.
So i have 3 days until my beautiful little bubba is due, and should that day come and pass then i know that i have until the 14th of this month until i am well and truly over due.
