Default worried about my friends scan results?..

my friend is 20 weeks 1 day pregnant today, she had her scan last monday.

she got a phone call this morning to rush down to the hospital as they are worried because the babys head is apparently alot bigger then its body.

what could this mean?? what could be wrong?

and why are they calling her a week later? if something was that wrong the wouldnt they have realised a week ago when she was having her scan??

her and her bf are at the hospital now.. but dont know when i will hear from them.

2 of my firends were told this at their 20 week scans, and surprise, surprise......they both birthed healthy babies with large heads.

You have to remember that a LOT of people have larger than average heads, so it stands to reason that some babies will too. The average head at birth is 35cm, with most babies falling in the range of 33cm-37cm, and still some on either side of those.

I hope your friend is in the same boat as my friends were. Goodluck to her.

    hopefully there is nothing wrong.

does anyone know what could be wrong if its not that?

what a bigger head then body could indicate?

I was told at 31 weeks with this bub his head was measuring at 38 weeks..

Hopefully his/her head is just growing a bit faster then everything else..

I am not sure what problem it could be if there is one! Sorry!

    apparently everything is ok.

they read it wrong or put the measurements down wrong at her last scan. she had another scan today and everything was normal luckily!!

they should be more careful and could have saved her a whole heap of worry today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
