    Default Sad day today

We have decided to have our beautiful cockateil put down today.
He has been sick for a couple of weeks and has been diagnosed with psittacosis which is contageous to humans. He has to have daily injections for 7 weeks. The vet is not happy about him coming home with us for his treatment because I am pregnant and there is to much risk.
So he would have to live at the vet for 7 weeks which will be extreamly expensive (not that I care about the money).
The vet said that even the 7 weeks of treatment may not fix him and that he will always be a carrier.
It's so hard, my animals have always come first, but this is the first time when I have had to put my baby first. I know it's the right thing to do, but it doesn't make it any easier.
    Me 28 DH 25
    m/c 4/07 & 10/07 (8.5 weeks)

I know what you are feeling as this time last week my dog was put to sleep.
Rest In Peace to your cockateil
