    Default 2 under 18months...your experience

We have decided that we want 2 more children and for a lot of reasons DH and I (at this point anyway ) are planning to have them as close together as possible. Im just wanting to hear from people who have done this, basically started TTC or got preg almost straight after a pregnancy. We dont take this lightly we realise that it must be really hard work and cant even imagine how it must be but Im sure its so rewarding. Are we mad to even consider this?

    Hi there Jamaica
I dont think you're mad at all even considering having 2 within the 18 months.

My 2nd (daughter) and 3rd (son) children are both 13 months apart.
I found this really easy to have them both so close in age.
It was also good too because as my daughter grew, she'd outgrow her basinette, cot, toys etc so my son got to use all of those so I didn't need to go out and buy new stuff
    .
They were also quite close growing up as the age difference wasn't that big.

I'd definitely go for it if I were you.
    Good Luck for TTC

Not mad at all!! Mine were unexpected blessings! They are 12 and a half months apart. For the most part is has been great! My girl is now 4 and my boy is three. Sometimes they fight like cat and dog but they are also best friends and stick up for each other fiercely!!! I wouldn't have it any other way. The only downside i see is not having as much one on one time with each child, but they don't seem to mind!

It's great! I love it I really do. I found the hardest is going from 1-2 and then the rest is just so easy.

I have 3 under 3 and its tiring and exhausting but oh so rewarding! ikeeps me busy and that tad bit insane as well.

It is soo rewarding, its the strongest and biggest love ever holding so many children and seeing them all kiss and cuddle and share

I had three under three, and that was really hard. But I think that I wasnt helped by the fact that I was in a very bad relationship, I had close to zero support and I was very young. It was most definitely a steep learning curve, and whilst the first few years were overwhelmingly challenging, I can now say hand on heart that it was very rewarding and worthwhile. The children are extremely close now, they play together, support one another through their challenges, and they are always learning so much from one another. I don't think it would have been quite the same had there been bigger age gaps.
    Positivity is a wonderful thing!

When Gabs was born we had 3 under 3... when bub#4 will be born we'll have 4 under 4 with 13 months between him and Gabs..

I love the close gaps. The fighting gets a bit much sometimes... but more often than not they play really well.

We have a 16 months gap between our two. We have good and rough days. When dd was newborn, it was great, because she just slept and ds would just cuddle her. But now she's starting to play more and ds doesn't really understand to share, so a bit more tears than usual. Ds' also going through the terrible 2, so I have more headaches than usual . Ds loves his sister, and loves to shower her kisses and cuddles, but sometimes he would suddenly smacks her, so that's one of the hard part.

Other than that, we love it. She's starting to crawl now, so we can't wait to see them to interact more and become real buddies..

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread... I'm a few weeks away from having my second baby.. and my DS will be 17.5 months old when his little brother arrives.

I've been trying to work out how I'm going to deal with the two of them... any suggestions are welcome !!

Honestly, it's not that hard. Very time consuming but not hard!
