Default Sleeping on tummy while pregnant. Is it safe?

I'm 23 weeks pregnant and I'm still able to sleep on my tummy and find it comfortable. I only have a little bump.
But I recently told some of the mums at playgroup that I'm able to still sleep on my tummy as I'm a tummy sleeper normally, and they all questioned me about how safe it is for bub. They said they didn't do it as they were scared it would squash bub.
Does anyone know if there are any risks in tummy sleeping when you are this pregnant?

I did this up until I wasn't able to anymore. I worried too, but really I think if you are comfortable that way go with it.

I was just over 3 months pregnant when I stopped, because I could feel the pressure on my uterus and it made me feel sick.

I only stopped because it wasn't comfy anymore, I would think if you're comfy then it wouldn't really be a problem, maybe ask your doc if you're not sure.

I have only just stopped sleeping on my tummy and I am 15 weeks. I have been told my my OB and GP that it is perfectly safe as long as it's comfortable.

I am 30 weeks and still sleep on my tummy - albeit not flat on my tummy, but more on my tummy than my side. Ob and midwife have both said sleep however you are comfy - baby will let you know if it doesn't like it!

I'll be 38 weeks in two days and still wake up in the middle of the night to find myself more on my tummy than my side...bub is completely healthy though and moves if he doesn't like something so I don't think its bad.

I was told it could be dangerous, when i had antenatal classes,... I had a quick look online though and didn't see anything saying not to.

It should be perfectly safe, so long as its comfortable The amniotic sac is the most advanced impact protection system in the world - your baby is well protected from getting squashed! You will probably find that at some point it becomes to uncomfortable to sleep on your belly anymore, though, and you should stop then

I don't think it would do any harm. I sleep partly on my side partly on my tummy because it's the most comfortable way I can sleep on my tummy anymore. I've been sleeping this way since about 12 weeks & I'm now 22 weeks.
