Default Q for those who have/are taking weightloss pills?

I have a huge lack of energy to the point where it effecting how I interact with DS. And before you say diet and exercise will get your energy levels up understand that I don't eat a lot of unhealthy food and I'm not a HUGE eater and with exercise it has no effect on my energy levels. My bro was put on a weight loss pill containing amphetamines and has found its helped him a great deal. I know its only a short term thing and I understand that if I fall pregnant I have to stop taking it. No probs.

What I'm wanting to know if has any used this who has PCOS? Is it recommended? I'm serioulsy looking into this because there are a lot of things causing me grief ATM and they all seem to stem back to my lack of energy. SOme feed back from those who have used or are using this sort of thing would be great.

    TIA

You are obviously aware that these pills are the same as taking speed.

You really need to think about whether you are ok with being a speed user.

I used to be a big speed user. And yes it does give you lots of energy and you can lose weight. However, it can damage your heart. I now have an irregular heart rhythm most likely due to speed use. It can also cause paranoia, psychosis, panic attacks and a whole lot of other health and metal issues that will affect your life and interactions with your son.

Yeah what Chelle said.. Maybe you should look at multi vitamins and things like that instead.

Things like this aren't as simple as "I'll just stop taking it" either.

If you are talking about duromine, then I strongly suggest against it.

Just read my emotional health journal to find out what they did to me.

Each to their own though and in the end you will do what you feel is right, but if you truely want advice about these pills in particular, then I would steer well clear.

Have you had your iron levels checked?
I found upping my Iron really helped my energy levels.

I've had my iron levels checked and its not chronic fatigue. Multi vitamins do nothing probably because my diet isn't really lacking that much. This is one option I will be talking to my doctor about.

DramaQueen: thanks for your input. I'll check out you journal and take it on board.

I love duramine. I researched it and decided to take a chance in trying. Ive had nothing but good results. To be honest I feel exactly the same as I did before except I don't feel lazy and I dont binge eat (If u've read my weightloss journal u'll no what I mean). And by saying I dont feel lazy I dont mean I feel like Im speeding. Ive had speed and for me duramine is nothing like it.

In saying that I completely understand that everyones bodies react to medication in different ways. It is expensive so do all the research before making a decision

I paid $125 for xenical that I only used a week of because I really hated being on it and it didn't agree with me. What a waste of money that was. Although we don't have a huge amount of money I'm will to try anything to help me lose the weight and get some energy back. I'm assuming its not covered by PBS so if I do get it I'll just have to check the chemist around here to see which one has it for the cheapest price. Thanks for your input.

There is also 3 different strengths of Duramine. Theres 20mg, 30mg and 40mg. If u decide to get it maybe ask for the weakest one to try out first, its cheaper and if u think ur body can handle it then u can move up to the next strength for the next month.

Im on Duramine 40mg and its not covered by the PBS and the cheapest Ive found it is $96.
