    Default Baby Sleep System

I just saw this story on the news about a surefire way to get colicky and non-colicky children to sleep. It's apparently a CD that has sounds from within the womb combined with everyday noises like vacuuming and white noise.

Of course when I wanted to tell everyone about it I can't find it on the news website, or anywhere else for that matter. I think that I have found the product that they are talking about, but I'm not entirely sure. If the news story is reputable, then the CD has even been sent to Princess Mary for her new baby.

Did anyone else see the news story? Is this the right product? Would you consider buying something like this if it can get your children to sleep?

EDIT: For anyone just reading this, the product above isn't what was on the news story. See littlepickle's response 2 posts down for the correct product.

We had a similar product when DS was born. It played a selection - ocean waves, white noise, heartbeat etc.

DH was convinced that it worked, I'm not so sure to be honest...but we used it for the first 4 weeks anyway, purely (in my mind) to get bubs accustomed to sleeping in an environment that wasn't entirely quiet.

I was actually watching 7 news, not A Current Affair. I never watch that rubbish.
But of course the 7 news website is also rubbish and they never actually appear to have the news stories listed that they talk about during the evening news.

You're right littlepickle. I just saw the news again and that's the one that was on there.

I tried this - DS woke up screaming. It scared the sh*t out of him. He preferred ocean or rainforest sounds. I still have the CD if anyone wants to buy it off me.

I'm very sceptical about anything that "guarantees" to get a baby to sleep!! No harm in trying it though - it's bound to work for some babies

I have found the sounds for silence cd excellent, it certainly worked for us in the early months. The white music is good for background music when they are asleep. You need to put it on when they are awake and have it really loud, when they are crying it settles them by distracting them and the sounds are supposed to be soothing.

    Anyway I found it good
