I'm thinking of buying a doll for my DD - now my dilemma is do I buy her a cheapish standard doll and buy 2 of them so that if shock horror it ever goes missing then I have another one to replace it or buy a nicer specialised one like Cabbage Patch which is a bit more unique?

When I was little I remember losing my dolly and I was heartbroken. No other doll came close to replacing her so that's why I'm wondering whether to just get 2 of the same... unfortunately you can't get the same Cabbage Patch dolls etc...

Or what doll would you recommend? Any other good ones out there? Is one better than the other? What about those ones that make sounds, drink, pee or just get a standard plain one that won't break down?
