If you enter competitions and win (i.e. bonds baby search, baby of the year) you wonder how many agents knock on your door suddenly.

I really feel for the parents that get swept up in the whole "Oh your child is gorgeous, we should get work for them"It's sad because these parents are delighted with the response and most of us know they are just ripping these parents off!

Wow, thanks for all the advice, I was about to part with $$$$$ for my twins and 11 year old at Buckingham Academy where they would do a 14 week course and then join the agency Katz Agency. I would really love to hear from a success story!
Thanks

I need help... im trying to get my daughter into modeling, shes only 5 months, i took her to "bettina modeling agency" they want her however they want $455 for a fee for photoshoot,AT2 promoting etc. is this a scam? should i be paying so much money for this? is bettina a good modeling agency, can anyone tell me bout there experiences with them, good or bad. please reply thanks![]()
Hi motherbee - you've posted in three threads now asking the same question so you must have a gut feeling that this isn't right.
No, you should not be paying $455 to Bettina - ever. They are scammers and they follow the same line with every, single parent.
Seriously, don't waste your money. I used to work for one of these `modelling' agencies and they don't get work for anyone - they just take your money.

If you don't agree with me .... it means you haven't been listening ....
after doing alot of research and reading feedback including on here we went with kidnation
nicola has been great we emailed her a pic of liamm then had a interview (some companies wanted us to pay they got taken off the list)
few days later heard back from her saying he had been chosen as he had a different look having red curly hair we had a shoot and got the pics and being biased his adoraable nicola the owner of kidnation emails you a newsletter each month of what kids got casting auditions and who got booked what work was offered to her agency also get to read what other parents experiences have been with auditions and jobs
iv always found her great i email her constantly with silly questions and she has even given her personal mobile number
also if she cant find work from her clients posts on here
kidnation was the cheapest agency i found aswell

Hi there
I read some of these before we eventually signed up with zookids, no money up front but you have to join ecaster which costs $295 a year then supposedly the clients choose who they are interested in and then it comes through the agent, well one of my kids had one job and still hasn't been paid 6 months ago! Its all bull. My eldest did course in tv and film which is another $200
they constantly ask me to do courses for them, but we dont do anything. Next year I will sign up to e-caster without an agent and do it myself. Got just as much chance I reckon and then no extortionate agency fees!!!
Personally I wouldn't bother, they are all out to make plenty of money for very little effort!
Good Luck
Hi Mums,
It's really sad to hear all the horror stories about Model Agencies - For those that would really love to see their kids out there maybe doing something or perhaps seeing if people from the industry actually think thay have something check out www.showkidz.com.au
it's a FREE model search comp where you submit photos from babies through to 13 y.o and each month someone wins from each age category. My son won out of so many gorgeous entries now he is in the running to win a trip for our family to QLD with 3 passes to theme parks and lots more.
He gets to be in a runway event in Feb 2010 to compete with all the other monthly winners (proceeds from this event go to a charity of the winners choice). IT'S FREE!! Give it a go!
