    Thankyou so much!

Yesterday had some action(regular contractions and pressure) but today bub is active and stretching out like crazy.
Not used to this. I had 3 labours that started and finished same day.

2 more weeks till my EDD given to me by the drs, but I'm still thinking that bub won't be here until closer to 4 weeks.
I'm now starting to get a little bit excited that it's going to be happening so soon, but I still haven't gotten my butt into gear and got everything ready yet.
Other than old towels, sharp sissors (for cutting the cord, DH is totally against lotus birth ) and something to tie the cord, what else should I be looking at preparing? I don't want to have a heap of stuff prepared, only to end up using about a 1/10 of it (like I did for my first birth in the hospital).

a couple of plastic undersheets to put beneath whatever you are labouring on are helpful, stops getting gunk and fluid on the carpet or floorboards...unless you are waterbirthing of course, then all the mess is contained in the pool

Gee, can't think of much else, a big container for the placenta, I'm keeping homoeopathics on hand to help minimise any bleeding...if I think of anything else I'll add it

There's not too much you need really...

Great thing about freebirth you don't really NEED anything.
ITs more important for your body and mind to be prepared.
We had shower curtains just in case I wanted to lay on the bed but we didn't use them. Had heaps of towels around the pool (though we had floorboards) as well as cloth flats. Wasn't worried if they were ruined.
Should have had scissors for cutting the cord (oh well next time!). Hubby was against lotus birth too but I was hopeful! He knew to wait til I had birthed the placenta and then til it was cold. We had a bucket for the placenta. Had a gunk container too to keep the pool clean!
I had candles (beeswax) which was lovely. Lavender from the garden smelt beautiful. A few bamboo washers for the perineum - baby came that quick though!
