Default How do I convince him to cut down or stop?

Ok so I need some advise regarding my boyfriend

He smokes....Now it bothers me but you know I don't mention it because its not really my business BUT he smokes ALOT....I mean one after the other kind of thing.

I don't want him to smoke that much if at all but I don't know if I should say anything. I have jokingly mentioned what I think of his smoking a few times but never have I made it clear I am concerned.

Do I just keep my mouth shut or do I say something?

    TIA

I think i'd say something, chain smoking is terrible. Maybe you should just mention to get him to try and cut down at least.

I think you should work out WHY he is smoking that much in the first place. I started smoking when I was 14 years old and smoked a packet a day until I fell pregnant with Noah when I stopped cold turkey (proud of that!)

The reason I use to smoke so much (other than when drinking) was boredom. I would smoke because I was bored.

Hopefully his reasons are just as simple to pin point. If you know WHY you smoke it is so much easier to stop.

My now husband told me that he had no interest in dating an ashtray....that was over 8 yrs ago and we are now married...suffice to say I gave up the fags- I felt he was worht it.

Maybe you should tell him- it is your business because it affects you- you become a passive smoker, which is putting your health at risk. If he respects you enough he should atleast cut down around you, if not completely, or even quit.

I think I should find out why he smokes, but he will probably say that its just cause he likes it...Hope he listens.

It's more the fact I am concerned about his health.

he probably smokes cause he thinks its cool.. lame i know, but thats why i started
he wont stop until he wants too, so young, health issues might not be in his thoughts right now...
