Talking If you grow herbs, do you actually use them?

I've been trying to keep a tiny pot of parsley alive for 3 weeks now and only used it once...figured a pot was easier than buying a bunch all the time...but I seem to spend my life keeping it alive and forgetting to actually use it!!

We live in an apartment and the weather isn't too kind to the pots. Back home I used to grow them outside the backdoor and still forget to use them!

Yeah I do, I love fresh herbs.... I only now have lemon grass, chives, garlic chives and 'had' parsley but unfortunately it died from te cold here, and my lovely dog chewed up my small greenhouse material, so therefore not as much protection from the cold on my balcony.

How about in the kitchen somewhere....they should still grow, just put them out in the shaded sun for a while, but mostly keep them near the kitchen window sill or something, that way they are right there....

I love my herbs, and have simply incorporated most of them in my garden - except for parsley and mint - they're in pots

My favourite is my Bay Tree.

I often give herbs away as well, and for gifts make herbed vinegar and herbed oil

ATM, I have a bay tree, chives, parsley (which I am going to have to separate and transplant some in a pot before the first frost), oregano, sage, thyme, rosemary, common mint and peppermint outside and corriander and basil inside. I love fresh herbs in my cooking and am always raiding them! I love them in my home baked bread and as they come to an end, like KayteO, I puree them and put them vinegar or oil or dry them.

I have three, triple concrete old laundry tubs for my herbs! They work really well as they're elevated and well draining (when you drill lots of holes in the bottoms)

They're right outside my kitchen window so I can't forget about them.

I use the herbs in them heaps. But I'm just about to pull them all out and refresh the soil as I thik its getting a bit tired.

There's really nothing like tabouli made with loads of fresh italian parsley from your garden.

I have parsley, basil ans mint at the moment, I love having fresh herbs!!!

The mint was growing in the garden when we got here, so that was nice.

The basil and parsley were on the windowsill in pots but they're getting so big I planted them into the vege garden yesterday.
