    Default dentist visit

When do you take your little person to first visit the dentist? DS is 14 months old and has approx 10 teeth

Ah, a use for my ex-dental assistant skills

A good idea is to take your littley with you when you go to the dentist for a check up. Just tell the receptionist before. Then they will be in there with you- you will not be stressed about going - and the dentist can just have a quick look. Usually while your littley's on your lap. It's just more for them to get used to the whole idea of someone looking in their mouth.
Starting from about now would be great.

    Hi!
I'm an ex-dental assistant too and I have to agree. The earlier the better. You may even be able to visit a school dental van. These cater to kids and may not be as overwhelming as some dental clinics. But the more you see your dentist and take your child along the better (every 6 mths if money allows)

Yeah we just spoke with our dentist about this & got a booklet about it.
They say the sooner the better like the others have said but the first checkup etc should be around the time the first few teeth are in this way it starts getting bub used to the idea of a dentist & the poking around.
Mind you bubs now has number 6 coming through & still hasnt been checked but he will go with me on my next visit in a month

I had to go to the dentist on MOnday for a filling, $154 can you believe it? MG!

Anyway I asked when to bring DD and the dentist told me that the first visit is when they're around 3. They sit on the chair and play with a mirror and all that jazz. Wonder how much that's going to cost?????
