how long does yogurt last in the fridge

I brought a tub of plain jalna yogurt last wendsday, the use by date says 24th of april, but is that before opened? how long does it last in the fridge once opened?

need answers quick because i just fed some to dd without thinking and now im worried she will get sick
I cant tell if it smells ok because plain yogurt smells a bit sour anyway..

Doesn't it say on the container? If not there should be a customer enquiries phone number you can call.

I buy those 500g tubs of the natural yoghurt, usually i will leave it for 4-5 days and then toss it, i always taste it first though. Its usually eaten by then anyhow, I cant think where i read it but it wasnt on the jalna tub, it was on another yoghurt and it said on the back "use within 7 days after opening"

Did you taste it? does it look ok ?

stupid tub!

All it has on it is the best before date of the 24th of april. and to keep refrigerated.

It smells ok, but sort of sour but as I said plain yogurt smells crappy anyway.. I tasted it but ive never tasted plain yogurt before so I dont know what its supposed to taste like

when I opened the tub it had a tiny tiny bit of juice on the top but i mixed it and it was fine, I figured that this was just from sitting still in the fridge for a couple of days.

Argh!! what if ive made her sick

I wouldnt give her anymore, i dunno just to be safe i guess and its been opened for 5 days so i think that it would be nearly ready to toss. I guess i am really fussy though about stuff like this thats all, paranoid

I doubt you would have made her sick she would have been sick by now, and if you have, you werent to know

I wouldnt give her anymore and maybe ring the company as someone else said to see how long it lasts opened

she seems ok so far, she had it about 20 mins ago..
thats so silly of them not to put how long it lasts!!! GRRRR

all it says it keep refigerated.. well DUH but for how long! gah stupid company

I would have called a helpline but i dont have credit on my mobile or a home phone connected..

I am completely anal about freash food, but trust me that yoghurt would be fine...provided you have used a clean spoon each time you have used it. The liquid you see on top is completely normal(and the best part so definately mix it into bubs!). I buy a tub a week generally and it is still perfectly fine by the seventh day - it should easily last that long.

it was the liquid i was worried about.
its been 5 days I think so yeah. I figured it lasted til the date written on the tub but now ill remember to throw it out after 6-7 days.
