Default Alternative medicine/therapy for period pain

    Hi everyone

I was just wondering if anyone has had any success with using any alternative medicine/ therapy for the treatment of bad period pain and heavy, irregular cycles.

Just a quick background - i have had endometriosis diagnosed for four years. After my last laparoscopy, 2 months ago, i was told yesterday that, although there is still a small amount of endo there, i am pretty much disease free. Great news except that i was also told my problems with my period now have no reason, therefore no cure and nothing that will give me relief. I don't believe that so I thought i'd ask if anyone knows anything that can help.

I can't take pain medication much because only the really strong stuff works but i am super sensitive to the side effects so it's alomost as bad in a different way when I take meds.

Also (sorry last one!) I am TTC #2 so any medicine or treatment that hinders conception is no good either.

    TIA ladies

Default Alternative medicine/therapy for period pain

    Hi mum2moo

I too am looking for some relief. I have recently had all my endo removed, hoping it was the cause of my increasingly unmanageable pain, however have discovered in the last day that it was not....

I can take the strong stuff (Panadeine Forte), however it still does not eliminate the pain. Naprogesic used to work with no side effects, however those days appear gone.

Any other suggestions are welcome. I too am TTC - looking for number one after more than two years of trying...

I was just talking to a friend about this the other day. His girlfriend had endo - extreme pain and frequently passed out during periods. She went to a chinese doc and she has no problems now. Sorry I don't know the finer details, he was actually recommending the doc to me for a different purpose so I didn't ask more about her situation.
Chiros can also help in this area so it might be worth calling one for more info.
    Good luck.

My SIL take chaste tree berry (vitex) for her endo. I get bad pains but nothing like I used to have. The only thing that works for me is naprogesic. I haven't tried anything natural though.
    gone chunky dunking
