    Default My poor sick baby.

    Cobey's unwell.

He started with a cold yesterday, nothing major, visited veve and her boys, played with lukaelmo's boys as well, was giggling and not being miserable... then all of a sudden had a very very very hot forehead and fell asleep while I was cuddling him. Came home, checked temp - 39.1
Panadol, cuddles, he ate a fruit stick and happily went to bed.

Woke fine today, not hot, went to grandma's while I went to work.. I was told that the same thing happened - fine, playing... then suddenly very hot. Panadoled and bedded there as well, he woke 'fine' just a bit whingie and out of sorts.

My SIL called me at around 3 to ask me if I had panadol at home because he was fine when they put him in the car, but 20 minutes later he's dopey and burning again... came home, he wouldn't let me take his temp but he was really hot and very cranky... panadol... (god I hate giving him so much...) he fell asleep in the lounge and flopped around in the bedroom when I moved him into my room, he's now lying on the couch eating cheese, watching Elmo (I'm sitting on his pooh bear arm chair on my laptop.....)

Anyway, I'm finding this sudden fever onset weird... he has a bit of a cough but I think it's nasal drip related. I was knocked out for 3 days over the w/e with a bad head cold, but had no fevers as a result.. I think he's also teething (2 year molars)
Is it normal to have such a sudden "fine fine fine fever" thing?

Your poor little man, does the panadol knock his temp? I hate using the stuff too but times like these you have too, i was just thinking maybe nurofen to give it a kick if you use it i know that when ds has tonsilitis i use the both as it seems to get that temp down which makes it better for him, more so that his comfortable than anything.

Maybe its a bug, funny how kids can come down so quick and the next day act like nothing has happened. I agree with kattus though if you feel his not well it doesnt hurt to ring the nurses on call or get him checked out.

Hope he gets better soon and its just a bug or the flu and he bounces back

This is exactly what we are going through at the moment.

The docs can't pinpoint in to anything - just keeps getting these high temps usually in the afternoon.

thanks the panadol has been knocking the fever and he's been fine after about an hour... you can TELL that he's unwell but he's making jokes and playing games... however happily climbing onto his bed (so unlike him)

Ergh, I can't miss work tomorrow but I think I'm going to have to... it's a daycare day......

This happened to both of mine not long before christmas. They were fine until the panadol wore of. They couldn't find anything wrong with Connor. It lasted about 4 days. But Ella had an ear infection.

It is recommended that if they are running a fever like that for more than 48 hours they need to see a doc. So if he is the same tomorow I would take him to the doctor.

Whenever Riley is sick,he usually only has a temp at night. Its weird. Also scary,I always sleep with him so I can monitor him thru the night.
