Working mummies chat (like we get time !?!?)

Hey I have plenty of time b/w 11pm and 5.30am

My morning starts at 5.30am so I can have a shower on my own...put on a load of washing, COFFEE

Before 6 the kids are up,

6.30 we are ready to leave. Walk dogs to creche and drop off DD, walk to before-care @ school, drop off DS, walk dogs home.

7.30 in car on my way to work...

5.30pm pick up DD, DD in bath, start dinner and homework and reader, DS in bath, feed dogs, unpack school bag, pack lunches for tomorrow, feed cat, bring in and hang out washing, unpack dishwasher

6.30 Dinner

7.00 Dishes, and pack dishwasher, finish lunches, clothes out for tomorrow, make sure homework is finished, teeth, a few books, COFFEE

7.30 kids in bed

7.40 finish folding washing, and anything else for tomorrow (always tomorrow), sweep floors, take out rubbish, get out meat for tomorrow's dinner, general tidy,

8.30 falls onto couch in comatose stupor

8.45 bookkeeping ( I also work from home...)

at some stage I know I go to bed - cos that's where I wake up....

What's your workplace like? Do you have good relations with them?

I wouldn't mention about the pregnancy unless you have good relations with them and only until after 1st trimester or until its pretty obvious.

I didn't get a good reaction with my workplace when I told them about number 2 even though they would have known we were trying coz I had to take time off after my miscarriage!!

Anyway.... hope everyone is doing well... hey weekend is here!!! YAY!!!

I work for the government, so they are pretty good. However they are paying for me to study and my contract will run out in January! Eek!

How exciting....I've gone back to work fulltime this year after a year off work and have really struggled with the "loss" of friends. I am in a really family friendly workplace with lots of mums but sometimes you really don't feel like talking about home stuff at work! My stats as follows:

Job description - Head of Department in a Secondary School
My Beef - time, time, time - cleaning, ironing, exercise, painting my toenails, tidying my wardrobe or undie drawer etc.......are all left until last which consequently means they never get done!

I am sticking my head in quickly to say that I too am a tired working mum.

three little people aged 5, 3 and 1
Part time - but it is 4 days a week and I log in from home when I am not there so it feels like full time.
Married.
I work in legal policy.
My beef - husbands who don't pick up after themselves, and a constantly messy house, and being tired all the time.

Here is my big whinge - most nights when he is home (he does some shift work and is studying) he lies on the couch while I sweep, mop, pick up toys, cook, clean, and iron. He tells me that he is tired - which, strangely enough, is how I feel too!!! Grrrrr......

I am lucky because for three days a week we have a nanny so I only have to get myself out of the house. ONe day a week I start at 7am and finish at 2pm and DH starts at 2 and finishes at 10pm so he does the morning shift at home and I do the afternoon shift. It makes for a long day but it helps to have one day of not paying for care - and it is good for him to be part of school, playschool, home for the kids too.

Now I have to go and do the ironing before falling into bed. Oh - and clean the kitchen!
And pay some bills. And try to dry the couch cushion that someone spilt cordial on this afternoon. And put a load of washing on. And remember to defrost something for dinner tomorrow night. And really - I had better get off the computer!

How are all you working mummies doing?

What do you do on your days off? I'm off on the weekends but I am still on the go (even if most of it is seeing friends, etc it's still draining!!).

I am finding work hard at the moment, at around 2pm I am getting sooooo tired (pregnancy! ARGH!). I am dreading when the morning sickness kicks in! Not too sure how I will cope!

Hey ladies! I'm 22yrs old and a part time working single mummy. I work three days a week in pharmacy. Those days i'm up at 6am, out of the house by 7.30 and we get home usually by 5.30. Then there's dinner, washing, showers and getting mister off to bed. My main issues are just feeling so drained by the time we get home, mentally and physically but i'm glad i work the 3 days in a row so i have quality time with DS. I just wish i had more hours in between getting home and going to bed. Hope to talk more soon nat xxx

Hi girlies just thought I would pop my head in.. Im pretty sure Im getting my AF so Im feeling rather quiet depressed! it ALWAYS happens pre period AND I can NEVER say no to the od choccy so i gave in and had one of my lindt choc balls that I got for easter BUT its been in there since easter so I thought I deserve it... oh i feel guilty now... how is everyone... I was just talking to someone from work sayig I hate the whole Monday work cycle it depresses me I HAVE to work but i just cant wait until my weekends are full of partys because my house is lovely and looking nice after all my hard work and money!!!!

been working heaps, feel so sorry for my little man i have been leaving for work before his up and then coming home in time to feed bath and put him to bed.

but i guess got to keep in mind im doing it for us...
