Im just wondering what the strongest pain killer that can be taken in pregnancy is?
Ive got a nasty headache and it just wont budge! Also which allergy medications are safe?

most of the allergy medication is safe

i had to take alot of it with DS cause i was SOOO itchy!

you can take panadol and panadiene too

but not nurefen or anything like that

i suffered from very bad headaches with DS and the r said you can even take panadeine forte but i didnt want to go that far!

    Thanks people.

Ive noticed since i found out i was pregnant that i seem to be coming up in itchy welts and also waking up every morning with a blocked or stuffy nose and sneezing my head off all day. I dont usually have allergies.

I have just squashed 2 discs in my back and my Ob has prescribed Panadine Forte,.... it is great to not be in pain - and I have a high pain threshhold!

I'm pretty sure you can only take paracetomol (panadol)

    Yucky.

Only Panadol. The others are not safe. This is one of the many things I hated being pregnant, that you can't take anything for pain.

I have taken panadine ( paracetamol) for my headaches
    can get panadine (8 -10mg)
    and panadine15 (15mg)
have to go to a gp for panadine forte...

I have checked with 3 pharmacists.... 2 said it was a class A drug ( safe in pregnancy ) and the 3rd one refused to sell it to me as I had just fallen pregnant....

check with your pharmacist.... dont take my word for it though.... better to be safe than sorry....

headaches suck especially when they last for days....

Paracetamol is a class A but Panadine has codeine in it. Panadine is a class c. see here

I wanted to add that I had lots of headaches during pregnancy. Massage and warm, but not really hot baths also helped.
