I like Lexie for short but not a fan of Lexington, it sounds like a town in the UK or something.

I really love Lexington as a girls first name I was thinking about a few days ago, I think it's better than Lex/Lexie which I think is a bit too short and informal for a first name.

Lexington Avenue is a famous street in NY, and thousands of girl's are named (unintentionally) after another famous street in NY:

Madison as a girls name was first introduced as a first name in the Tom Hanks movie "Splash" (1984). In the film, actress Daryl Hannah's character takes her name from Madison Avenue after walking past a road sign. Hanks' character comments that it is not a real name as, since at the time, it was a rather unusual name for a woman. In the years since the film was released in theatres and video, the name's popularity has skyrocketed.
If the producers of the film had decided to use Lexington as the girls name instead of Madison, it's likely that Lexington would be a very popular girls name right now and there wouldn't be any little Madisons running around. Kind of makes you think doesn't it.

I like Lexi, but im not too keen on Lexington....maybe for a boy, definately not for a girl.
I'm all for uncommon and unusual names, but a girl's name has to have some femininity to it.

Lexington and Madison are both awful names IMO

There are other, better names that can be shortened to Lexi:

    Alexa
    Alexis
    Alexandra
