Default What do you think of....

The name Tanner / Tanna / Tannah for a girl ???

I like the name Taya but I dont like popular names and sooooo many people I know have it on their short list so am thinking it will become more popular over the next few years.

I wanted something similar to Taya, but not a fan of Tara, Tyra etc and found Tanner in the boys name lists LOL.

What do you think? Please be honest

To be honest (IMO ), Taya is sooo much nicer than Tanner / Tanna / Tannah.

Out of the 3 above Tannah and Tanna look like they could be girls names. Tanner looks boyish.

Taya is so much nicer!!!! I work in childcare and have never come across a Taya. I dont think its ever going to be super popular like Ava or Madison. Its much better to have a beautiful more common name than a less than beautiful uncommon one. I don't really like Tannah much, its not bad, but when I read your post yesterday I was thinking it was be just gorgeus to have 2 kids called Seth and Taya. Tannah reminds me of Anna or Hannah but a more trendy-american- out of fashion in 10 years version.

I think it's much better than Taya, if girls can be named Taylor there's no reason why they can't be named Tanner. I would spell it Tanner myself, it looks much cleaner and classier than Tanna and Tannah.

Also, wouldn't spelling it Tanna and Tannah change the pronounciation slightly? I would pronounce Tanner rhyming with planner (as in city planner) but would pronounce Tanna and Tannah rhyming with Hannah (as in Hannah Montana).

Im actually really happy when people say its ok and not for them - means its not likely to become popular but the 'ok' bit means they don't hate it hehehehe.

Oh and thanks about the siggie Im not too sarcastic am I? When you become a Mum you learn to just tell it like it is hey

I dont tend to pronounce it with a definate ER sound on the end, would more pronounce with AR sound which is closer to an AH sound - if Im making any sense (trying not to confuse myself LOL)
So Tannah for me would sound like Hannah with a T

Oh and I agree about the "if girls can be called Taylor" comment. Girls names like Ashley, Shannon, Taylor, Hunter, Emerson, Dylan, Blair, Elliot etc are becoming very acceptable and common. Im not trying to pick a boys name for a girl but I just like this one
