    Default Fertility Help in Perth

Help! I am looking for advice on fertility specialists in Perth. I am considering Concept Fertility and Hollywood Fertility. I would appreciate any advice on either clinic and especially regarding Drs Lucy Williams and Chris Nicholls from Concept and Dr Simon Turner from Hollywood.

    Hi there

I hav'nt had IVF treatment at Hollywood Fertility Centre, but I did undergo Ovulation Induction. They are fantastic, very professional, caring, just great! I didn't personally have Dr Turner as my specialist, but have heard great things about him. My specialist was Dr Roger Perkins and he is a wonderful and caring man!

If you have any particular questions, i'll be more than happy to anser them for you.

All the best, and for a speedy

    Default recommend Concept

    Hi there

I would definately recommend Concept Fertility. they are just wonderful. I had ICSI late last year and am now 23 weeks pregnant.

Besides them helping me get my dream result, they are just the most caring people I have ever come across.

I was with Rob Mazzachelli who I would definately recommend. Some people are not that keen on him and feel he acts a little blase or uninterested but I found him very professional and a 'straight down the line' kind of guy. I liked that about him though, I wanted someone to tell it like it is, no fluffy stuff!!

I now have Linda Wong as my obstetrician and she is fabulous and also does fertility at Concept.

Hope that helps and good luck!!!

My fertility specialist was Dr Chris Nichols. He is fantastic. Highly recommend him. He helped me conceived He too was my obstetrician. Had my bub 6 months ago. Would definitely go back to him if we decide to add more bub in the future!

There is a little clinic Fertwa which is new and they have most of the nurses and a couple of the best embryologists from Hollywood. We went through Hollywood for our first bub and they were great, but it has been taken over by a Sydney company and has gotten very big and less personal. I see Dr Mike Aitken and he is fantastic. We did not like Dr Turner as he was very abrupt in his manner.
We have now been successful and I am 8weeks, so we have just finished with the clinic and have no real issues at all. The nurses are great and Dr Steve Junkt (I think) the embryologist is fabulous.
    Good luck with everything.

    Hi ya!

I am currently having my treatment at concept.

I am under the care of Dr Shellabear. She is lovely and caring and hopefully I will be on my way to being pregnant next cycle.

I am just waiting to officially ovulate to get my start date, hopefully that will be some day next week.

I think the services at Concept are good. It is central and close to home and the nurses are always available either by phone or you can go and see them in person.

I havent been to Hollywood so couldnt comment.

Why dont you have a wonder through both and see which give you the better vibe.

    Hope that helps.

    Default Thank you

    Hello!

Thank you so much to everyone who has replied to my original post. My DH and I appreciate any advice we receive.

It is wonderful to know there are people out there who understand and are/have been going through the same thing! As we are reasonably new to all this, and don't really know anyone else with the same issues, we don't feel like our friends or family understand what we have been going through, and we are 2 yrs TTC and have experienced 1 yr already of treatment with Dr Mark McKenna (Dr Chris Nicholls' partner), using Clomiphene, which was unsuccessful. DH is all okay but I have PCOS and poss ENDO .
Unfortunately Dr McKenna has been unable to treat us further as he has completed all the basic tests and suggested we see someone else for treatment. Dr Nicholls is our obvious choice, but after thinking we might be able to see a female, and feel more comfortable, I decided to research my options a little. We have decided upon Concept , but are still deciding on who. It does feel like a big decision, after feeling a little dumped by Dr McKenna, we want to make the right decision. I can get into Dr Nichols in May (as I am Dr McKenna's patient), and I was told Dr Lucy Williams had a 2 wk to 3 mth wait, depending on the referral. What does that mean? As we have already had 1 yr treatment, does that mean we would be seen faster? I'm so confused!

Hi, after 2 years TTC#2 without success, I went to see Dr Nichols. I had exhausted all the fertility tests/assessments including laparoscopy/dye. I was diagnosed with unexplained fertility. Dr Nichols gave us a few different treatment options for us to consider. DH and I decided to opt IVF.

I had IVF#1 done in Dec 2006 and fell pg . I was grateful that I am that lucky.

I am very very happy with Dr Nichols. He is very thorough and always explain everything in the way you can understand. What I also like about him is that he always gives you different options and let you tell him what you think/feel. I haven't seen Dr McKenna before so I can't comment on him.

Dr Lucy Williams is great if you decide to go with her.

It took about 6 weeks (from memory to get inot see Dr Shellabear. You could put your name down for a cancellation and could get in earlier that way.

Some Drs only see initial patients on a certain day as the appointment goes for about an hour.

Why dont you ring both and see who you can get into first??? If you are deciding to do your treament at concept I see my fertility specialist there when I am ready for treament. I have only seen her in her private rooms once and the rest is managed by the nurses and your Dr by phone/fax etc so it makes it much easier for you.

Once you have made a decision to start you just want to get started. The waiting sucks but you soon learn that you have a lot of waiting to do.

    Good luck
