    Default Townsville Posting

    Hi Everyone,

My finace is just about to finish his army training and has been given his first posting in Townsville to start in 4 weeks. We are moving from Canberra and this is the first time i'm going to be away from my close support network. I am both excited but nervous at the same time and just wanted to put myself out there and say hi and hopefully chat to some others who may be in the Townsville area.

    Hi there!

    Welcome Sharn883

My partner is posted in Tville and we have been here for almost 2 months. He has lived here before, but this is my first time away from my friends and fam in Melbourne.

It was a bit of a culture shock at first, but I'm really starting to love the place and the climate. It's starting to cool down and is perfect at the moment.

Goodluck with the move and the transition - I think you'll like it here

    Best wishes
    TB

hi I am an army wife in townsville as well. I have been here for 4 years but my closest friends with children were posted end of last year and hubby is down at Wogga on a course for 18 months. I am a uni student struggling with being a single mum with no no friends with children to help me out. I am interested in meeting and forming some sort of babysitting swap so that I can have some well earned me time. If this would suit anyone else please let me know. I am free Mondays and Wednesday and Friday afternoons.
