    Default What shall I do?

I'm a bit embarrassed that I can't figure out what to do here...... I've just got home from picking my son up from daycare (he's 17 months old) and he fell asleep on the way home. He only had 1 hour sleep there.

Anyway, he's got sand in every cavity and paint everywhere. I can't wake him up to have some dinner and his milk! The poor little thing is just so tired. I've just got him on his little sofa bed in the lounge at the moment.

I've never been in this situation before - it's close to his bedtime so he may sleep through but he may wake up hungry - in the middle of the night?

Should I just put him to bed and see what happens? I hate putting him to bed so dirty! Guess I could give him a sponge bath, he won't wake up.

Wow I can't imagine my DS ever sleeping like that (I wish! ). Even if he falls asleep in the car he always wakes up when we take him inside. So I'm just hypothesising here LOL, but:

If you think it wouldn't wake him then yeah I'd just change him and give him a bit of a sponge over then put him to bed. If he wakes during that process then I'd just give him some milk and get him to bed while he's still sleepy.

If you're worried he'll wake up hungry later in the night, he might not - and even if he does, it's only one night, right? I still wouldn't wake him purposely to give him dinner because he'd probably be grumpy and not want it anyway - and then you might have problems getting him to bed once you've fully woken him up IYKWIM.

    Good luck!

well he just woke up.....very grumpy and doesn't want any dinner.

I think I'll just give him a nice quiet bath, try dinner again and a bottle and put him into bed.

thanks for your logic when I didn't have any!
