The User Infraction System

The User Infraction System is designed to make moderation of the site more automated and more consistent.

It works on a points system, with viewers being given points for breaches of our rules. Once a viewer reaches 10 infraction points, they are automatically banned. Some infraction points never expire, some last for just a few days, after which your points balance reduces.

In most cases the moderators will give you a warning (with no points) for the first breach. Points are given for subsequent breaches. We can also customise an infraction to make points permanent if you continuously breach the rules or to re-word an infraction reason none of the below cover the breach sufficiently.

Here are the infraction items:

• Spam advertising - 10 points that never expire
• Actions which could potentially damage or impact negatively on the Bub Hub's business - 10 points that never expire
• Temporary ban - 10 points that expire (length of ban may vary)
• Sending insulting private messages - 10 points that expire in 7 days
• Advertising (party plan, self promotion, etc) - 5 points that never expire
• Inappropriate Content (eg racist, offensive comments, etc) - 3 points that never expire
• Insulted/Verbally Attacked Other Member(s) - 2 points that never expire
• Gossiping about other members (past or present) - 3 points that expire in 10 days
• General breach of Bub Hub Terms & Conditions - 3 points that expire in 30 days
• Inconsistency/deceitful post content - 2 points that never expire
• Deliberately argumentative - 2 points that never expire
• Sending unwanted PMs - 2 points that never expire
• Attempting to buy/sell goods - 2 points that never expire
• Condoning illegal activity - 1 point that never expires
• 'Too much information' - eg graphic discussion of sexual positions, drug taking, etc - 1 point that expires in 30 days
• Making unkind, sarcastic or rude comments to or about another member - 1 point that expires in 30 days
• Complaining about moderation decisions on the forum - 1 point that expires in 30 days
• Signature Rule Violation - 1 point that expires in 10 days
• Advertising other websites without prior approval - 1 point that never expires

For example, if you have acquired 7 infraction points that never expire and you then acquired an additional 3 point infraction for gossiping about other members that expires after 10 days, you will be banned because you have reached 10 points. However, after 10 days, the infraction point for gossiping about other members will have expired, your infraction points total will be back to 7 and you will be allowed back on the site again.

You will receive a PM when you are served an infraction.

This system does not overwrite our powers to instantly ban members who make major breaches of our rules.

Please note that infractions serve as a warning and as a record for moderators of past behaviour. They CANNOT be seen by other members and only you know if you have received one or not. If an infraction is given, it will stand and no discussion will be entered into with the moderators or administrators.

We are proud of our forum and the level of decorum and standard of friendliness and positive support which is exhibited here. The vast majority of our members are also happy with the way in which the site is conducted and this system will not affect the way in which those members interact on our site.
