    Default They chose our name!

They chose our name or did we choose theirs?!??

So, we need to change our name choice.

We are thinking Richard, I have always liked the name Richie and my husband would prefer to call him Richard.

Do you think he will get called ****? Or, is that just an old-fashioned thing.

    Thanks, Amber

My BIL is Richard, my sis calls him Rich (lucky her )

He gets Rick, Richie, Rich, Richard and he also used to get the occasional **** usually from the boys at school but I dont think its as bad these days but then again I am not a teenage boy so couldnt tell you

I think if your child is going to get picked on it doesnt really matter what their name is (kids can be cruel and will find something to say no matter what)

If you and your dh like the name Richard then use it

I must admit that when I hear of people talking about baby name Richard, I automatically think '****', but I know a few Richards and I would never think of them as ****.

I think when we analyse our baby names, we can become overly worried.

And it's true - kids will find a way to be cruel - no matter the name (My sister is Helen and we were worried about "Smellin Helen" or "Smelly Helly" but it's never come up)

I think Richard isn't really associated with the name **** anymore it is old fashioned. However, kids can be cruel so its hard to say. But i know a couple of Richard's and i dont think they have ever had a problem with it, so i say if you like it then GO FOR IT!!

And Rick, Rich or Richie does sound pretty cool to me
