Hi and welcome. My name is Marie and the lovely Andrew is my other half. We are a happy loving couple who met later in life, and it does seem that all good things do come to those who wait. Neither of us had been blessed with children but we where both very eager to start a family straight away ( at our age no time to waste). Even though I’m in my forties I’ve always been very healthy and it never occurred to me that I would not fall pregnant straight away. So began our journey .
After several attempts with IVF , disappointment followed disappointment, but the sad truth , according to our good doctor , is that without an egg donor to help us it is unlikely we will ever know the joy it would be to love a child of our own. Through all of these difficult times our relationship has grown stronger and it has made us realise how much we really want to not only have children, but to be a family.
Adi is an electrician, a great cook, (his green thai curry is to die for) he enjoys the outdoors, (though can be guilty of watching too much cricket), lives a healthy lifestyle and loves his widely scattered family. He is the only one of 6 siblings not to have been blessed with children. There always seemed to be plenty of love to go around in his large family. Lots of nieces and nephews in the extended family, some now having kids themselves, but his dearest wish is to have a child he can call his own.
I am a medical professional, (and a better cook than Andrew) I grew up in Australia after emigrating from France when I was 4 years old. I experienced the difficulties growing up as someone “a bit different” as I started school with no English at all and, with the love and support of my parents and my brother to guide me through these difficult times, went on to complete university and open a successful practice. Not having grown up with my extended family around me it was always a given that I would have my own little family some day.
We live in our lovely old renovated queenslander, with our four legged furry friends, (our own wee version of a “Brady bunch” household ) The puppies do help a little with keeping my motherly instincts in check, I wish I could say it was enough.
Our vision for the future, (should we be so lucky!) is a happy stable childhood for our little ‘un. We want to share our passion for travel, food and new cultural experiences. Our love of our family and friends and all that they bring to our lives. Our love of the beach and all things watery, and overall we realise childhood is meant to be fun, a positive experience that they can look back on in their adult years and say “you know, I had a great childhood”.
If you are under 35 and would consider helping us in our plight we would love to hear from you. We would be pleased to answer any questions you may have about us or about donating in general. We are happy to consider interstate donors, all expenses to be covered by us. Please feel free to send us a personal message through this forum.
Marie and Andrew.
