Sorry no advice as i only had to do this with DS when he was 3wks old and that is when he became dependent on his dummy.
The only thing i can think of is if you have or know anyone who has an in car dvd player, this might keep him amused for the trip.
Good luck hopefully someone will have some good sugestions

Any chance you can time the trip for sleep/nap time?

we had to do it with DD when she was 1 and a half.
i was all set ready for a crappy day thinking she was going to get upset about not eating but it was not an issue at all.
we just kept really busy and didn't stop and i guess she just didn't really have time to ask, but she also loves the car and loved that it was peak hour so lots and LOTS of trucks to look at along the way.
have you got a morning op ?
that could be another reason why DD did pretty well, as soon as we woke her up we bundled her in the car.
i think i also woke up in the middle of the night and got her up and gave her a bottle just before the time they said she could not eat anymore.
good luck and i hope all goes well![]()
