    Congrats on your pregnancy!

My Dr has been rather uncaring about me feeding DD whilst pregnant. I told him at my first appointment and he just muttered, "That is not a problem" and it hasn't been mentioned since

DD has been feeding consistently throughout this pregnancy - I had sore nipples for 14 weeks and initial attachment is still painful but after a few seconds the pain goes away. I had thought that DD might self wean as my milk changed to colostrum but she loves that even more and has upped her feeds to about 5 -6 per day/night and asks for 'yummy milk please!"

My mum and a couple of friends have been very unsupportive of me breastfeeding during pregnancy and informed me that my baby is missing out and will be small, that I will tire myself out etc but I just smile and ignore these comments now.

Best of luck with your pregnancy and feeding your LO throughout - don't worry about what others think just do what is best for your baby and you!

Well firstly Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I will just give you my input on the judgments that you might receive.

When I fell pregnant and I was still breastfeeding, people automatically assumed that I would wean Summer way before the baby was actually born. I was asked by all my doctors when I'm going to wean her, I didn't even think of weaning her.

Then when Taliyah was born more comments came about how I don't have enough milk to feed two, how Summer is drinking all the babies milk, how it's so stupid what I'm doing.

Best thing to do is NOT listen to them. Just do what you want to do after all it's your body and your babies!

www.kellymom.com HEAPS of GREAT info there

I never got any flack about breastfeedingwhile pg really, some people expressed surprise, but I just took it as a learning oppurtunity, as I had read up on it all extensively.

It seems to be kind of a 50/50 chance whether your child will wean or not, and anecdotally it seems girls tend to give up the boob more easily than boys (my son kept going)

I am now tandem feeding, and I didn't really find I had to change much while I was pregnant and breastfeeding, just keep on top of my diet, sleep with my child during the day, and drink to thirst.

There is the myth that it can cause preterm labour, but this is not true, in rare cases, at the end of pregnancy, sometimes bf can stimulate braxton hicks, and I know of one woman who chose to temporarily wean her child as the pain was severe, but when bub was born, the older child picked up where he had left off, and they tandem nursed.

    All the best with it

I've bought up feeding DD to all the medical people that I meet. Sort of just to see the reaction
Nothing, not a peep, no raised eyebrows nothing. Everyone just accepts it as what I'm doing and continues on happily.

But on the other side. Dh and I have not told family members who are not very bf supportive. So why bother.
