Question when is a good time?

ok so my partner and I have just found out we are pregnant with the second child. We found out late with the first one so didnt have a baby shower. We are just wondering when from the time you find out your pregnant is the time to have a baby shower? and should we hint that if people bring clothing to only bring unisex if we dont know the baby's sex?

I think usually a baby shower is held in the last trimester but you can have it anytime you want really!

I think most people will give uni-sex gifts if they don't know what you are having, I can't imagine people will buy pink or blue unless they are told you are having a girl or a boy.

Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy!

I also agree that a month before you are due is good, unless you went really early with your first.

I am leaving it a little late and having it 2 weeks before i am due but that is only because half of my friends were going to be away. I would of ideally had it at 36 weeks.

Mine's early compared to what the other girls are saying - mine is on the 2nd of next month, I'll be 30 weeks
I'll also be starting to study and want to get ahead as much as possible before bub, not worry about arranging everything in the room before he arrives. Plus if there's anything else we need, I don't want to be waddling around at 38 weeks getting things

My baby shower is next weekend (10th feb) My sisters are organising it but i gave them the date, i'll be just over 30 weeks. I dont think its too early, we live 4.5 hours out of the city (party is in city) so have made it on a weekend that we were coming down for something else. I cant wait to see what they have organised, its a first for all of us.

I'm having my baby shower on the 1st March, I will only be 29 weeks. I'm only having it then because my partner is going to be away for work after then and won't be here for the birth, so I wanted him to be able to see what we get from the shower.

I had it the other way around and had a baby welcoming shower so had it about 3 weeks after the baby was born.

This meant that everyone was able to come see the baby at once and so I didn't have visitors coming and going during the first month.

I loved having mine on Saturday! I was exhausted by the end, and it was great having people who helped to clean up afterwards (and did a lot of the cooking...)
