    Question Helicobacter treatment??

    Hi there fellow sufferers!

I'm sure I read somewhere that researchers were investigating a link between helicobacter pylori & morning sickness, with the view to treating the bacteria before you get pregnant.
I had horrific morning sickness for 9mths with DD & am thinking about ttc sometime ... so was wondering whether anyone knows anything about this.
Otherwise, I'll go ask my doctor & share it here, because it could be a lifesaver

I had the helicobacter treatment about 6 or 7 years (?) ago. I didn't get morning sickness at all. Do they say that it rids you of morning sickness once and for all? Or you take the tablets to prevent morning sickness? What a breakthrough!

From what I remember, it was a university study started a year or two ago to trial the treatment to make a definite link.
It was the first I had heard of it! Better than suffering for 9 months

    Question confused

ok I confused...I had heliobacter pylori diagnosed at 18 (1994) by a UK doctor who had heard about the ground breaking research the guys in WA did...as cause of 2 months of me wasting away, vomiting, choking up bile etc...leading to minor stomach ulceration...I was given antibiotics (think!)and anatacids (many pills anyway) for 12 weeks... and the dehabilitating symptoms dissapeared - i was told at the time that would be it...I then at 21 started to have the symptoms agin...lost 2 stone...and couldn't eat without acid and vomiting etc...they did the blood test again I had the bacteria again! and they treated...never again since.

I had the worst all day sickness from week 6 -14 ...for 8 weeks...are they saying (sorry didn't quite understand the posts) that morning sickness linked to heliobacter pylori? As it is a bacteria does that mean it is passed to your bub too? I know they said I had probly picked up as a kid, and that alot of people carry but only a few get symptoms...

That's what I had - there was about 4 different tablets you had to take a day, one of them being a horrible pink one that you had to chew. Bleugh!

The WA doctors recently won the nobel prize for their research too.
