    Default Lubricant

Ok this may sound like a really stupid comment/suggestion/question but I am really curious. Has the idea of using alot of lubricant during birth ever been brought up? I know it's good for making other things 'fit' more comfortably and it definately works better than just plain water. Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of it or would know why it wouldn't work, or hasn't been used so far.

You have plenty of natural lubricant when birthing (ie: blood and mucous). I would also worry about it getting onto bub.
I have two boobs for a reason:

~Elora~ Homebirthed waterbabe, will be 1 in March!

Yeah, trust us, you won't be dry at that point

The amniotic fluid isn't just water, it's slippery stuff. And the baby comes out covered in goop, so much so you'll be worried that you're going to drop it.

Also, I'm not sure what stage of pregnancy you're at, but you'll probably find that the last few weeks of pregnancy are pretty damp. Lots and lots of vaginal mucous.

    It's not an issue
