Default Any other first time mums freaking out about giving birth?? ?

    hi
well im 33 weeks with first bub and while im very excited... im TOTALLY freaking out , my mind is going 100 mile an hour.
Half of me is as prepared as one can be and the other half is so so so scared of the unknown - pain , what's gonna happen, how long will it all be - questions i know cant be answered right now.
Ive read the book Birth Skills and that really put me at ease and gave me some techniques to calm myself down during contractions etc....but ,, is it all really that bad ??
I know everyone is different ....but I'm a bit scared of it all to be honest and just hope i dont freak out too much .
was everyone else like this with their first ?

    Hey there

I can't say I ever felt afraid of giving birth, I didn't see what there was to be afraid of to be honest.

It's a totally natural thing to do, instincts kick in and away you go.

I don't have any advice for getting over the fear, sorry, hopefully someone will come along who does, but good luck with your birth, it is truly a wonderful thing to do.

And good on you for doing your homework, knowledge is power.

Don't be scared Hun . It is so natural to give birth. Women have been doing it for years and years. I've done it twice now and I would love to go again (when I'm fully ready). Think of it has a hard days work...the reward after the hard work is magic...when you look into your precious babies eyes it is truly amazing!!

    Gee I'm getting all clucky

Just that feeling when the baby starts to crown.. once the head is half way out to out, you don't really feel anything!

Last time I froze up and found it hard to keep on pushing, the pain just scared me to pieces. I only had a mild "graze" so tearing does not worry me.

Contractions are painful and tiring, but I find it easier than pushing!

What you feel is normal! And hey, I am having my 4th so it can't be too bad

    Default planning a family

    hi,
my name is jem and im completely new to the website but i joined to find out more about starting a family and what it involves.
i work as a childcare worker and i have seen 3 of my fellow workmates have children and they seem to find it so easy in most aspects of it (financial, birth, pregnancy issues etc.) i just want to find out if it is all as hard as it seems.
i have been around various types and ages of children and i honestly cannot wait to have children to be able to help them grow and develop into a beautiful and intuitive little wonder. can someone help me?!?!

Hi, I'm jackie, seriously if you think about it darl labor is only 1 day, sure it may hurt a little but your instincts kick in and you will be fine, just be sure that you keep your breathing in a regular pattern. I delivered my baby posteria but I would do it all over again. I'd focus more on getting heaps of sleep now while you can because once bubs is born, you'll be wondering why all the stress was about labor! Good luck I hope all goes well.
