Default SBS television program on Childcare

    Hi there,

Insight, a national current affairs program on SBS, is recording a program on childcare. Insight is a forumed based program www.sbs.com.au/insight
We are looking for parents of young children, and people who are considering having children to come on the program and take part in a discussion on childcare.

I am interested in talking to poeple who have opinions on the issue.

Are you having problems getting your child into childcare?
Are the costs of childcare a major issue, or are they fair?
Does it make economic sense returning to the workforce?
How do you feel about childcare versus stay-at-home motherhood?
Do you have any suggestions about how the system could be improved?
How do you feel about the 4,000 baby bonus?
And what about the 30 per cent rebate on childcare? Is this the best option?

If you are interested in talking to SBS please call Skye on 9430 3469.

    Many thanks,
    Skye

SBS, can you please clarify what city the forum will be held & filmed in, and also that telephone number. I'm assuming it's a Sydney number?

Hi there skye if you come back to this forum,

Not only should you do a program on child care and the costs etc,

but you should also do a program on child care workers, the hours they put in and the low wages they get for all the responsibility they have. Alot of child care workers are in the industry not for the money but because they love teaching and caring for children. You should also interview abc child care centres and other big chain child care centres and also the union to see what they are doing for the child care workers. There is a huge shortage of child care workers in the industry.
