    Default Dummy Danger

    Dummy danger
There've been several reports recently of babies in distress using a dummy which is a potential choking hazard.
We think the NUK Starlight Silicone Soother dummy is unsafe and that the Australian Standard should be reviewed and made mandatory.
Read our report and pass it on to relatives and friends who should know.

I got this in an email from Choice Magazine, I am a member of choice. Read it here:

When PJ was little I purchased nuk dummys for him because he only liked a particular shape and it was all I could get my hands on. He was only about 3-4 months old and could fit the whole plastic part(Sheild I spose) of the dummy in his mouth . I threw them both out straight away and got hubby to drive an hour away to get our usual ones.

Ohh - informative stuff! Will keep it in mind when my turn comes...

I wonder if having a 'chain' that attaches to bubs top would help at all? Probably not unless it was really tight...

my ds loves the nuk dummies and won't take any other brand. He's never put the whole dummy in his mouth, 11 months old now, and still uses it at bedtime for a little while.
