Default 55 years old and pregnant!!!

Oh My!!! I don't know where to start!

I just found out that I was pregnant! I'm 55 years old! OH MY GOODNESS!!!

Uhmmmmmm how did THAT happen? LOL!

Anyway, hello all ... I just joined today, was hoping I'd find other older women who are or were pregnant, but there seems to be nowhere for that.

I have 2 sons that are 32 and 27, I haven't told them yet, am planning on telling them on Christmas eve. I can't even imagine what they'll say! My husband is in total shock! LOL

This is my second marriage ...

I'm just around 6 weeks now, more or less. I can't even fathom being pregnant again, and am scared about it too, risk of misscarriage, etc.

I'm being treated by a OB specialist, so they'll be keeping a close watch on me.

Any other older moms out there? Any of you ever been pregnant at this age?

    Dee

    hi dee

congrats .... I think. There are several different forums around that might help but you may have problems finding someone with your experience.

p.s. the best ob's who would have more likely have dealt with situations like yours are more likely in the public hospitals so remember that if you feel uncomfortable with any advice you are getting.

oh and unless you have forgotten pregnancy isn't an illness. your body wouldn't have let it happen if it didn't think it can do it.

    Welcome to bubhub and congratulations!

just a nice lil story for you,

one of my friends when i was at school - her mum was 62 when she was born (and thought she had been thru menopause!) she had 3 children in there late 30's early 40's

Sam loved having older parents, and never missed out on anything, she got spoilt by her older sisters and brother and even now - shes 24, her mum is 86 and her dad is 92! her dad is in a retirement village, but Sam and her mum are travelling the world together - her mum is great!
