    Default caffiene intake

    Hi Guys,

just wondering what other people have done when they are pregnant with there caffiene intake. Im 5 weeks tomorrow (EDD 25/12/05), i don't drink tea or coffee but i love a can of coke. I usually have one a day.

Does anyone have any views on this.

    Cheers Pippa

hi Pippa there was another thread similiar to this recently and i think every one was of the general opinion that 1 coffee/ tea etc a day was ok, if a can of coke a day is your only vice i think your doing just fine!

    Hi Pippa!
I set 3 cups of coffee a day as my limit most days I have 2, I read this was ok, I also read 5 cups a day has been linked to miscarriage so it's up to you but I think everything in moderation should be fine!
When my sister was pregnant the doctor told her to quit smoking but continue to have alcohol in moderation if she wished as to give up both completely would be to big a shock to her system and my nephew turned out perfect!
    Hope this helps!

    Pippa

I'm pregnant with my third (4 weeks only) and weaned myself off as much caffeine as possible before conceiving. I loved my coke and pepsi, it was very hard. I now allow myself one cup of tea a day. From my experience it's only the first 13 weeks when you should stay off caffeine as it's the prime period for miscarriage, but after then upping your supply just a little shouldn't hurt. May I add I did try caffeine free diet coke and pepsi - tasted like muddy water!

    Thanks Guys,

I'll continue to have my one can of coke a day if i feel like it. I don't smoke, have stopped drinking alcohol since i found out i was pregnant and i don't do drugs so i can cope with my one can of coke a day.

    Cheeers Pippa
