Default Reading starts after 2nd molars?

has anyone heard the theory that serious learning of reading and maths doesn't actually kick in until after the 2nd molars have come through, around 6-7 years old, and therefore formal education shouldn't be pushed until after then?

Does it have any merit, or has it been debunked?

I just came across it again last night, and I'm curious.

Never heard of that before- it sounds a bit ludicrus but than again so do half the studies and majority of them turn out to be scienctifically proven, don't they!

Hmmmm... I wouldn't think your teeth would have much hold on how you learn. lol. I've never heard that before though... quite interesting.

My brother could read before he started school... because I was in school, and therefore he learnt from me.

What about the kids who start well before then? My brother was reading when he was 3 and DD is starting now and she is almost 4.

I don't think this idea has much merit.
He who laughs last probably didn't get the joke.
