Default When should Dad stop showering with daughter?

No this is not the police!!!
OK guys it's about time we had a new thread!!

So....when should we stop having showers with our girls? The oldest one is only three but starting to ask awkward questions. Are you a caring dad or a paedophile when she starts to tell others she saw daddies penis. Not much to see. ha ha but you do hear stories.

    What baloney.

I can honestly say I saw my Dad's penis on many occasions until the age of about 7 when he and Mum split up.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it, and she should be allowed to feel natural about the human body and comfortable with her Dad for as long as she wants to. She'll reach the age when she wants her own shower/bath and doesn't want to share anymore.

Until then, let her be innocent about the hang-ups of the world.

Sorry... I only just saw you posted this in "Dad's Chat"

On the flipside though when should Mum's stop showering with their sons... mine keep asking where my penis is!

A peodophile gets sexually excited by children, so unless you do, you are not a peodophile. I think when either you or your daughter are uncomfotable then it is time to call it quits. If you are even asking this......maybe the time is now.

    Stop when she's uncomfortable.

I have memories of seeing my Dad's penis when I was 4 and showering with him, and it was disgusting. I didn't like being there at all (my younger brother was also in the shower, that didn't bother me).

I don't think I saw it again after that. Thank god.

Well that didn't take long to get some feed back, i dont think there is a problem, as a caring dad i didn't want to cause any though, so i was looking for some ideas. Prior to when it would happen. You cann't stop the girls getting in at the moment so until they don't want too, we'll go with the flow! Thanks everyone!

DD is 5 1/2, and still loves having a shower with DH. She knows he has a penis, but she doesn't focus on it, maybe because we've never made a big deal out of body parts.

At the moment, I don't have a problem with it, and am confident that she'll soon let us know when she doesn't want to do it anymore. That said, I don't think that it would be entirely appropriate if she was 9 or 9 and still insisting on showering with DH....

My DD1 is 2 and loves having showers with her dad and we intend to continue until she doesn't want to. We don't make a big deal about body parts, we want her to feel comfortable and safe with her own body.
