    Default Pail Pals DIY

    Hi

Just wondering if anyone has any good ideas for making your own pail pals that work.

The nappy bucket almost knocks me out everytime I open the lid lately

    TIA

There's a couple of different ways you can do it.

You can either put a few drops of essential oil onto a sponge or a disposable menstrual pad and tape it to the inside of the lid.

Or you can make the disks from scratch...

    Homemade Deodorant Disks
    Distilled or boiled water
    Your choice of essential oils
    Baking soda
    Muffin pan
    Paper muffin cups

Add a few drops of essential oil to a small amount of water. Mix the water with 2 cups of baking soda. Mix well. Gradually add and mix more water until you have a thick paste. Press about 1.5cm of paste into each muffin paper and let dry 24 hours. Tear the paper off.

After you've used each disk for a month or so (however long you find it effective), crumble the disk into the nappy wash. Baking soda deodorizes and softens the nappies.

Disposable menstrual pad? Wouldn't something reusable be better, like say a face washer? I've seriously never heard of that before!

Dab some essential oil onto a coffee filter and place in your pail

Don't shoot me down for it. It's not what I do, I just read it from another member here who does it with disposable pads (which I thought was a bit bizarre myself), so just throwing a few options out there

I soak a cloth wipe in essential oil then tape it to the lid....it doesnt seem to stick for long though so im trying to figure out a way for it to last.

^^^ Actually it was me that mentioned that - I read it somewhere else. I feel irresponsible for suggesting it especially as I'm converting to cloth myself now

Just make the pail pals everyone (or place oils on a face washer)!
