    Default Warning about Family First

Pro-Christian pro-family people may be tempted to vote for Family First.

But be aware that Family First is flowing preferences to a party that wants to legalize incest.

Plus it is also preferencing One Nation.

Be careful what you vote for. The Bible warned about false prophets.

    See Christian Party's Unholy Alliance.

This is a very interesting preference deal! I wonder what Family First voters will think of it?

Didn't Family Firsts one and only member expose himself at the ARIA's?

Family first are a bunch of nutters who hide behind a very 'soft' name. They are extreme right wing and should have a name that fits their policies, not one that confuses everyday people into thinking that they are supporting families.

From what I've read of their policies I like them, why do you say they're not supporting families? I'm interested to know because I quite respect your views 4B2L. I've only just ventured into this world of politics and I'm learning what various parties stand for and what I stand for.

Also, in regards to the thread topic, don't all parties have to preference all the candidates they are running against??? How far down the list is the LDP???

Hi SusanMac I initially thought the idea of family first sounded great. My whole life revolves around my family and so I thought initially that this party had the goods. It was at the last election that I was listening to a lot of their policies that I began to question them. They had great ideas on banning poker machines (just for example) which sounds great, but they had no back up plan on how to make up for the loss of revenue. I have looked a little into them this election and I am really worried about what they even stand for? They seem to cover every topic, with no real solutions. If you look into their policies you will see there is no substance, they are saying what they need to say to grab some easy votes. It is so easy to say we want this, this and this for our country, but you need a plan...they have nothing. I am always wary of the extreme right in politics anyway. They constantly contradict themselves with each policy. I am a Christian, but am very wary of extremist in any religion, and a lot of Chrisitain extremists are members of this party. They really are hiding under their name........

Might just add that one of their members was quoted as saying that lesbians should be burnt at the stake I think when they say family first, they really mean, me, myself and I first, they don't seem to hold much compassion for anybody else. But that is just my opinion, if you find them different and to your liking, go for it.

Here is an article from the ElectionTracker website about Family First:

    http://www.electiontracker.net.au/fa...s-first-choice

Although I agree with *some* of their ideas such as cutting petrol tax and opposing WorkChoices, the most concerning part of the article for me was:

"The party's more controversial agenda, which has yet to be brought to the fore of their campaign, includes making abortion illegal in Australia, staunch opposition to euthanasia, stem-cell research, and they maintain a very conservative position against same-sex adoption and IVF. The party also supported the Government's anti-terrorist laws."

Essentially Family First are the 'political arm' of the Pentecostal movement known as Assemblies of God. I encourage you to read up about them, there's plenty on Google

Odessa, I am a little confused in their opposition to workchoices. In their small business policy it sounded like they supported them? A large majority of their members are small business owners? They really confuse me, it is like you can find things you really like, but then when you look at some other policy there is a major contradiction....it is as though they hope you will only read what concerns you *shrug* I dunno!
