    Default Tots Bots at night?

Has anyone used tots bots at night?

I have been using sposies at night and want to stop.

My main nappies now are tots bots, I have fleece covers I think they would be better PUL.

I also have microfleece and hemp boosters.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanx!

    Jazz

    Hi Jazz

Lots of people swear by wool for a night time cover. there are heaps of wool options out there, have a look at http://www.bubhub.com.au/shopsnappyproducts.shtml for a full list of retailers.

(edit by bubhub - we have directories of shops and online retailers for all sorts of stuff on the main bubhub site!! )

Fleece will work, but will be damper than wool and is more prone to compression leaks. One diff. between wool and fleece is that while they both breathe and create a moisture barrier to the outside, wool is absorbent too, so absorbs and excess moisture and stops it (reduced the occurence) from getting outside the nappy onto clothes/sheets/etc. Fleece isn't absorbent so any excess moisture or evaporation will just sit in the fleece and it will feel damp.

Re the tots bots over night... I don't know, I don't own any. All you could do is try, and add lots of boosting (my boy tummy sleeps, so I put all the boosting at the front of the nappy). What I also do is boost at the front on the OUTSIDE of the nappy but the INSIDE of the cover, so that inside the nappy isn't too bulky. I find this works really well. I use hemp overnight though, and 2 I recommend are baby beehinds hemp one size and Erica's Very Baby Simply Nights. I have to boost both for my super wee-er, but because they are hemp, they last all night and do a great job. haven't had to change Matthew overnight for over 12 months now (he is 16 months old).

I used PUL covers overnight for a long time, and liked them, but when I switched to wool and tried PUL again when wool was drying one night, I realised why I went to wool - the pul, while breathable, still doesn't breathe like a natural fibre.

Just be sure you know the difference between microfleece and microfibre. Microfleece is like polarfleece, and doesn't absorb, it's a great liner in nappies. Microfibre is very thirsty, like a sponge and is a good booster in conjunction with hemp or cotton. Don't try microFLEECE as a booster! Many layers of it would be a better barrier, like a cover.

    Good luck!

Just to let everyone know I used an unbleached tots bots nappie with a red rap and it lasted the night very well!

It was completely saturated this morning tho! Did not even need a booster.

Unless you have an Olympian wee-er,Tots should be perfectly fine for overnight. Thry're defintely thirsty enough for an average kindof child to get through the night. And you could always boost with a hemp booster if you needed a bit more. I've used them whenever I run out of our regular night nappies (Ella's House Bumhuggers) and they're fine-pretty well saturated in the morning, but a wool cover holds it all in perfectly. I would recomend a fleece liner to help keep your baby's skin dry overnight (Size 1 Tots Bots have the liner attached, but you need to decide for yourself if you want to line a Size 2)
