    Default Blocked tear ducts

After months of thinking my DD had conjuctivities and sinuses, I saw a doctor today who confimed she has two blocked tear ducts... All the drops i've been using over the last few months have been a waste of time, let alone probably horrible for poor DDs eyes..

Has anyone had experience with blocked tear ducts?
Apparently massaging the inner eye with your little finger is supposed to help?
If they haven't cleared by 9 months, she will need to have a probe put into her ducts to clear them!! Somthing I would obviously would like to avoid...

    Thanks

My DS had a blocked tear duct from birth. It cleared up itself around 8/9 months I think? He'd get a runny eye occasionally that'd last for a few days and then it would settle down again....a few weeks later it would run again. I also thought infections but it wasn't and he just stopped getting it eventually.

You can sometimes massage them out, as you said use your little finger and massage from the nose towards the eye gently little circle motions, as i said it works sometimes usually they do clear up themselves though

Katelyn had a blocked tear duct when she was born. The doc said not to worry about it unless it hadn't cleared up byt the time she was 1. It cleared up all by itself. I can't remember when it cleared up though.

My DS also had this from birth, and the massaging worked for him.
But even now if he gets a cold it looks like he is crying, a little massage and its all better.
    it works for you.
