    Default Coalition announces new policies

What does every 1 think of the new coalition's policies, The only 1 that appeals to me is the education package, $400 per pre-school/school aged child, and $800 per high school child, I think that it is a tax rebate, this is good for me because i have 5 kids at school and it costs me a fortune in school stuff.

I can only speak for myself, "I definately don't take anything for granted living in this country" I truely hope nothing changes on November 24th, especially when this is out and about Kev.

Unions vent anger at Rudd school plan

    A few paragraphs :-

At the 2004 election, the coalition relentlessly targeted then opposition leader Mark Latham over his so-called hit list of private schools from which he planned to strip money.

Although Mr Rudd and his predecessor Kim Beazley had declared the Latham hit list dead, they had not outlined exactly how they would fund non-government schools, referring only to do so based on need.

Until now, Labor had simply said that no school - public or private - would lose money.

Education Minister Julie Bishop accused Mr Rudd of playing a "cruel hoax" on parents by failing to promise any extra money for schools.

Current indexation arrangements meant schools would get $42 billion in the next funding agreement anyway, she said.

"This is further proof that Kevin Rudd cannot be trusted to deliver on his pre-election rhetoric," Ms Bishop said.

"After promising `massive increases' in funding to schools, Labor has failed to live up to its own rhetoric and has not promised one extra dollar for schools."

Well their election campaign doesn't officially kick off until tomorrow, we will see what he says then.....hopefully he has enough sense not to splurge like the Howard government did yesterday.

The difference between the 2 powers are simply this, Liberal know how to keep a savings account ( surplus ) Labour have no idea, not a very good role model at ALL!

Our governemnt right now is a role model whether we know it or like it.

Huh??? I didn't say anything about a surplus, just laughing at the fact that this government could be referred to as role models, that is all. BTW I think it is fine if you think that, we live in a democratic society, I am not going to argue politics with you, it is no secret that I hate this lying, untrustworthy government, and it is no secret that you are a fan of them. Hooray for Australia where we are both able to have such different opinions.

I am quite nervous about this school business. I don't want even less funding for my daughter's school than it already has.

I doubt you have the $$$$ to send your child to the equivilent of the kings school here in SYDNEY.

    http://www.kings.edu.au/

Have a look at the fees...http://www.kings.edu.au/home_set.html

    How about SCEGGS?

    http://www.redlands.nsw.edu.au/site_guide/index.html

School fees are $12 500 in kinder $19800 in yr 12.

These are the schools on the "hitlist".

It is a no brainer that these schools do not need the same funding requirements as the hard up schools in other communities.
You've got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badly enough I can have it. It's called perseverance. Lee Iacocca
