Default When sorry doesn't mean sorry...

    http://www.smh.com.au/news/economy/n...329384678.html

Was anyone else slightly confused by this? After the interest rate rise, John Howard said sorry to the people who would be affected by the increase. First he tells us he is not responsible for interest rate rises, then tries to take credit for keeping them low... and today he comes out and denies he ever apologised!

He's always been a slippery devil, a real double talker, but I think this takes the cake!

Aussies have their say on the interest rate rise today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4D4cnowSZQw

    A slippery devil indeed .

I don't trust him the liberals or their policies. I don't trust them with our countries future.

    OMG wasn't this just unbelievable.
I heard him trying to worm his way out of it this morning and seriously, I thought nothing the man could do would surprise me anymore but my jaw hit the floor.

I HEARD him say sorry yesterday!! He said it!!

Kind of has a "core and non-core promise" ring to it, doesn't it

    You can smell the desperation

I'm a through and through Liberal and I'm somewhat shocked and dismayed at this.....not smart politically at all. I can't see the Lib's coming back from this one.

I was taught at work to never ever say the word "sorry" as it does then mean you have accepted responsiblilty. I would just say "I can empathise with you, however...."
JH obviously said sorry without thinking and then tried to worm his way out of it. Bet he wishes he could turn back the clock on that one!!

To everyone who criticized them about their poor environmental performance, the Liberals are still recycling that old interest rates fear campaign they did in 2004.
