    Default Great OB in Newcastle

Can anyone recommend a great OB that will allow me to have the birth I want? I want a caesar and have already had one.

I called JHH and they would not tell me if I could have a repeat caesar there, I would have to wait until I was 22 weeks pregnant and then go and see them. I don't know why I even considered it.

So who's the best around here and if you don't mind, how much is it? I have some private cover, but might need to increase it a little.

Sorry that they won't give you an answer now. I am not sure of any for certain - but newcastle private has a very high c-section rate, so there will b somebody out there. I seen Dr Mcgrath (he is based at maitland private, but delivers at newcastle private) i think his c-section rates are high. He wanted to give me one with dd (toxemia) but because he knew i didn't want one, went along with my wishes as much as possible. He migth be the same the other way around too - but proba bit of a drive for you.

Well unfortunately just found out that my OB Jock Shumack is no longer taking any patients - has closed his books for good WAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!! So I personally think that the next two brilliant OBs in Newcastle are Jillian Spilsbury and Glen Lowe. They are the ones I will be trying to get into for next bub.

Thanks guys, I will start making some calls tomorrow.
charlis_mum the distance doesn't really bother me, last time the hospital was an hour away, so I am kinda used to it. I had to stop going alone at 38 weeks because I could not fit behind the wheel!

Jillian is fantastic I would not fault her in any way, however she is hard to get into so I would try your luck with her. Glen delivered afriends two kids and she thought he was great. goodluck
