Dodo internet/phone package - need advice

just had a call from dodo offering this deal and the more i told them i wasn't interested, the better the deal got. so now i am interested.
i've have dodo unlimited broadband for $49.90/month and now they're offering phone service as well, with following prices:

10c all local calls 24/7
$1.95 10 min mobile calls 24/7 (not that we ring many mobile numbers)
$1.95 capped STD calls 24/7
$1.90 capped 30 min i/national calls 24/7

line rental : $32.90/month
if we bundle it with our broadband service, then the unlimited broadband service will become $39.90/month , protected against any price hikes and with two months free thrown in

has anyone had any experience with dodo phone service? has anyone got a package that is better than this. this is already better than our current deal.

we get to keep our own number and no fees for address changes.

can anyone think of any questions i should be asking them? any advice for me?

We've had internet through Dodo and they are an absolute nightmare to deal with - especially if anything ever goes wrong. Which it seems to reasonably frequently. We're not even on a plan, we just pay month by month - but they won't release us to another ISP.

My advice would be to stay away from Dodo altogether. It sounds like a good deal, but there's a reason they're so cheap.

As a friend said the other night - "Don't ever get a company that is named after an extinct bird who's name is synonymous with 'stupid' to provide you with services".

we changed phone companies to telstra from dodo in oct 06... they have continued to take $ out of our account til we got it stopped this month! we werent on any contracts either!

yeah, heard that one before . we currently use dodo (we're at the end of our 2 year contract) and if there is a technical problem, granted, they never answer the phone straight away, but they almost always get back to you within 24 hours.....so its not too bad for us.

tam, who are you trying to be released too - is there another provider you would prefer. cheers

I have never had an account with them, but I have heard really bad reports about them. They have also been charged for false advertising before. Really look into it before you sign up.

We were trying to go over to Westnet - the broadband package is a little dearer, but they've won multiple awards for service in the past.

Check out TPG...We have been with them for years..Theyre really good!! And if you get a VOIP phone then its 10c any landline at any time

Westnet are awesome. I have had my dial up with them for a year and a half and am upgrading to broadband after christmas with them

yeah, i've been thinking about the VoIP, but i was wondering how much yu had to spend in set up equipment?? don't you have to have some hardware?
